Our Weekend
Friday night, Jesse, Corban, and I left home around 7 p.m. to drive to see my in-laws in Pennsylvania. We had a great weekend hanging out. Ben, Joanna, Hannah, and Lydia even came for the day on Saturday! Ben and Jesse helped my father-in-law mount his new TV in their kitchen, move furniture, and lay a floor in the crawl space above the kitchen so they will have storage space.
Some background in case you're confused...when Jesse's grandparents passed away, they split up their 300 acre farm (hope I have that acreage right!) between their 4 children. Jesse's parents, aunt, and uncle on his mom's side already owned the trailer that sits on what is now Aunt Janet's land- that is where we always stay when we go there- 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, and lots of bunk beds!- and where Jesse's parents have been living while his Dad fixes up the farm house his parents left him. He basically has to gut the entire thing and start from scratch. So far, he has turned the coal pit into a beautiful bedroom (that my in-laws have been sleeping in since November!) and he has been working on a laundry room, bathroom, and kitchen. It is a lot of work but coming along nicely! He has also built decks off the bedroom and kitchen that are beautiful. They hope to have the kitchen in working order before the end of March so they don't have to drive down the hill to the trailer 3 times a day to eat. I promise to take pictures when all is done:)
Here is a photo shoot we attempted with the kids before I put Corban to bed on Saturday night:
